Candice grew up in Kailua, Hawaii, and moved to Portland in 2006. People always ask her why on earth she would move from Hawaii to Portland, and the answer is that Candice is a city girl, a forest girl, and a seasons girl. She was the worst Hawaii person, because the constant sunshine made her grumpy, she’s afraid of sharks, she gets seasick, and she doesn’t like sand on her feet. Her soul longed for mossy forests, gray skies, autumn leaves, graffiti, beer in movie theaters, cozy coffee shops, free boxes of clothes on the side of the road, never-ending vintage and thrift stores, too many food options, and the regular smell of petrichor.
