Memory Den Vintage Mall + Malpractice Bar
My oldest daughter and I had a day of vintage/thrift shopping and lunch in Portland yesterday. We went to a huge three-story warehouse in the SE industrial district called Memory Den Vintage Mall. I think we must have spent about four hours there. I didn’t take very many photos of the place, other than this one.
Giant chess board on the main floor.
Like I said, the place was three stories. It was massive. On the main floor, there was a huge space divided into little vendor booths, like you’ve seen before at vintage malls. There were also separate “vaults,” additional rooms with additional vendor space. One of the vaults had furniture and a coffee cart. There were rooms throughout the building that offered places for people to sit, hang out, and play games. Upstairs, there was a whole other massive warehouse space with vendor booths. The bathrooms were also upstairs. The third level was the basement, and this level was really hard to shop in because the lighting was so bad. I would have been pretty bummed out if I had to sell stuff in that space. Hopefully they get a discounted rate. Or even better, hopefully there is better lighting on the way.
We were starving after all that, and I couldn’t resist a place nearby called Malpractice. (I’m a lawyer, so it spoke to me.) It turns out, it’s in the space where Grape Ape used to be. Bummer that it didn’t work out there, but this place is cool too. I think there’s actually a law office in the building, so it’s funny that they have this sign outside.

The drinks were delightful. I ordered one that came in this bird glass! The food was great too, a small menu of treasures. Everything we ate was great. We were so hungry, I forgot to take good photos of the food. Usually the camera eats first, but not today.
Put a bird on it.
This was a non-alcoholic drink and a burger.
