We started our business
Chateau Ste. Michelle Gewürztraminer and a Popeye’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich with Fries.
Steve and I had our first official LLC meeting Tuesday night. We filed our LLC paperwork. We don’t know what we’ll call our wine business, but we named our joint venture Cougar Lube LLC, and figure we’ll register an ABN when we figure it out. Excuse me, you named your LLC what now? It’s hard to explain, but we are in a group that nicknames everyone with inappropriate nicknames. Steve’s nickname is Cougaroos, and mine is Jiffy Lube. So we ‘shipped our names. I know, it’s very silly. We also applied for a federal winery license. We have an Operating Agreement, and we did a lease with his dad, who owns the property.
Saturday, we picked up a stainless-steel sink from a guy on Facebook Marketplace and went to look at some barrel racks at Hair of the Dog Brewery, which is closing. When we were picking up the sink, my car battery died. Luckily, the guy selling us the sink was able to help us jump it. We ended up going to the Honda dealership and leaving the car there while we went to Red White and Blue thrift store and spent about an hour and half there and got some great finds. The dealership replaced my battery, which was still under warranty, and we went to Popeye’s and got a spicy chicken sandwich and sat on the balcony and paired it with a Chateau Ste. Michelle Gewürztraminer. It was lovely.
On Sunday, we went back to pick up the racks from Hair of the Dog. Afterward, we stopped at a lovely new wine shop next door called Grape Ape and talked with the woman who worked there, whose name is Jordan. She also works as an assistant winemaker for Fossil + Fern winery, and she owns her own label and farms her own small vineyard. We bought some wine and had a great conversation there.
Today, we woke up and called the Washington Liquor Control Board to discuss our license, and we got the info we needed to know we are on track.
